Games, jamón, stroopwafels – and some networking, too

While many people put their Halloween costume on, we were having a great time at yet another Cloud Expo. So, for us, the 30th and 31st of October were not about scary stuff and pumpkins; we were busy networking and talking to colleagues in Madrid.

That doesn’t mean we didn’t have fun. We brought some amazing Dutch ‘stroopwafels’ and if that wasn’t your thing, we also provided some ‘jamón Ibérico de Campoto’. But it wasn’t just our friendly faces and the edible things that drew a crowd to our booth. There also were prizes to win…

We had quite a popular server-building contest during Cloud Expo Frankfurt 2023 last May, but we decided to do something different in Madrid: A trivia challenge. The attendees not only had to know a lot about the IT Sector, but they also needed some Star Wars knowledge.

Just like for the server-building contest, many people showed up. Not only to participate but to see their colleagues sweat – and for some stroopwafels or jamón, obviously. The crowd saw Antonio Guerrero, Miguel Alayon, and Macarena Zofio go home with quite some spectacular Star Wars Lego sets.
